RABIA
Star Sign – Capricorn

I am from Sydney . This year I chose to enter Raj Suri’s Miss India Australia 2020 to truly step outside of my comfort zone and showcase my creative potential on an empowering platform that empowers Indian Australian women to always strive to be more! I am delighted for this opportunity where I can proudly embody my cultural values and step up to show the world what a modern, sophisticated Indian Australian woman brings to the table. I am interested in Bollywood and sufi music, and shayari/poetry. My favourite film is Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara which tugs at my hopes and dreams, and of course; Farhan Akhtar’s shayari is deserving of a special mention here! I take joy in the little things in life, and just like this film’s characters, I am a resilient person who always make time to find and keep perspective!

“Namaste,
I’m from Sydney, I have a large of portion of my family here and so it’s more like a second  India for me. I have entered the Raj Suri Miss India Australia 2020 because I want to empower women  and be a role model for Indian girls all around the world to be more career-focused and help lift them  up to be more than just a pretty girl for someone else.  I am currently studying psychology and I have loved dancing since I was a child. I’ve always been  very bubbly, understanding and inclusive, and I want to use that in order to make more people  around feel comfortable and stronger versions of themselves. I also love doing new things, having  new experiences and exploring new avenues for myself every chance I get. The practical audition  was fun, and very warm, given it was over Zoom. I thought it would have been awkward but Raj Suri  made sure that wasn’t the case and the whole audition felt very comfortable.

Thank You, Radhe”

AMANDA
Star Sign – Cancer

“Namaste and hello!

I am a proud Indian-Australian from arguably the most diverse city in the world, Sydney. I love getting lost in world cinema, travelling the world with a good book and journal in hand, and spending a Sunday afternoon training in the classical Indian art form, Bharatanatyam.

I would like to participate in Raj Suri Miss India Australia as I am confident that it will be an excellent opportunity for a young Indian-Australian woman as myself to celebrate her cultural identity and rich heritage, as well as to further her pursuit of her passions.

The virtual audition experience, in my view, was an ode to the old saying, “where there is a will, there is a way!”. In spite of COVID-19, auditions went ahead with the help of our lovely pandemic friend, Zoom. It was a pretty cool experience!

Signing off,
Amanda”

NANSITA
Star Sign – Pisces

“Hi,
I’m a young woman of Fijian – Indian descent from Sydney, who loves the diversity and the wide range of opportunities it offers. Participating in Raj Suri Miss India Australia 2020 for me meant venturing out into an event that would boost my confidence along with my social skills that I’d incorporate into life. The overall interview process was simple, nice and very comforting.

A huge Bollywood fan, I grew an interest in dancing, admiring the cinematic experiences they offered. Aside from that I absolutely love applying henna and just anything that includes using my hands for craft.

Love Nansita 🙂 “

SHRUTIKA
Star Sign – Cancer

“Hi there,

Growing up in Australia, I had the privilege of being able to live in many different cities.

To me, Miss India Australia is an opportunity to proudly showcase our deeply rooted Indian culture to Australia and the rest of the globe as well. I believe that this platform empowers women to stand at the forefront and share their beliefs, passions and experiences with the world.

I have enjoyed expressing myself from through Kathak, public speaking.
I was so grateful for the interview audition with Raj Suri because I could share and express my passions with someone who is looking to provide women like me with the opportunity to take ourselves beyond the parameters of our home and community. If I can do it, every woman of colour can.

Love,
Shrutika”

“Hi,
I am from the harbour city, Sydney. It has a world of opportunities. I entered Raj Suri Miss India Australia 2020 because I believe this competition delivers the perfect platform to portray the qualities within me for modelling. I want to create my own lane and deliver a powerful message to young girls to accept themselves of their inner beauty. I love to dance, it helps me to showcase meaningful messages and to express my feelings. It is a stress reliever. I thoroughly enjoyed the interview with Raj Suri. It was a positive and an unforgettable experience..

Love “Radhika ”

KIRTHI
Star Sign – Gemini

“Namaste,

I am from Melbourne, world’s most liveable city for seven years. The reason behind me entering Raj Suri Miss India Australia 2020 is to take on new challenges in life and I am a girl on a mission to inspire international students/migrants to “create an identity” for themselves in Australia, who believe their skin color and accent weigh them down to chase their dreams in Australia. This platform would give me more confidence to achieve this mission, which I believe is far greater than myself.
I am a versatile and confident Indian woman who does not shy away from bold opportunities. I am a trained swimmer who loves playing sports. I am an avid reader, a passionate public speaker and someone who loves to explore new places and culture. My audition experience with Raj Suri was simply great as he was very passionate about the idea behind Miss India Australia and very comfortable to talk to.

Kirthi
