Vimala signs a film in India!                 


VIMALA RAMAN, MISS INDIA AUSTRALIA 2004 selected as a lead actress in a feature film by award winning veteran indian director K. Balachander

Vimala Raman, winner of Miss India Australia Pageant 2004, who
represented Australia in the Miss India Worldwide Pageant in Jan 2005 in Mumbai is back in Sydney but only for a limited time.

K. Balachander, the doyen of Indian Cinema, has signed the talented & beautiful Vimala for his next film in Tamil.  Vimala will play the lead role of the female actor in the film. The shooting will commence in April 2005 mainly on locations in India at Ooty & Chennai and in Sri Lanka.

The Padmashri  award winner, K. Balachander, has written, directed and produced more than 90 films in Tamil, Telegu and Hindi. The director who's Hindi film Ek Duuje Ke Liye was a super hit and has created thought invoking cinema in Zara Si Zindagi. His production Roja was another award winning success story. Duet Films of Prakash Raj will produce the upcoming film casting Vimala in the lead role.

The very talented 23 years old Sydney girl has just came back to Sydney after a very successful trip to India.  During her recent visit to India, as part of the official Australian entry to Miss India Worldwide Pageant, Vimala's performance and talent along with her confidence and hard work did not go unnoticed.

Besides winning the “Most Beautiful Title” in the pageant in India Vimala was offered many Indian film scripts, a few of them, from well-known Indian filmmakers including Santosh Sivam and Sunil Shetty's production company to name a few.

The offers from Indian film industry have kept pouring in including cross over Hindi English and South Indian film productions.
 
Since her winning Miss India Australia title in October 2004, Vimala has already completed series of commercial ad films as well as print ads for Indian companies in Mumbai and Chennai. With shoots in picturesque Allepey, backwaters in Kerala and other exotic locations in India.

Vimala's commercials are currently projected to feature internationally on Star TV as well as Zee TV. She has also just completed shooting, as a host, for a dance show on Jaya TV. Other offers have come from SunTV and GeminiTV.
