| Australia India Foundation The concept of the Foundation is an equal partnership between Australia and India to support worthwhile causes in both countries through bilateral contributions. Projects supported will have an Australia-India dimension involving the provision of funds, management or other expertise from one or both countries to projects that benefit individuals and communities in the other or both countries. So far, five prominent Australians have agreed to work together as Founding Members of the Foundation. They are: 1. Mr Neville J Roach AO, National Chairman Emeritus of the Australia India Business Council, member of the NSW Government’s Asia Business Advisory Council. 2. Mr Gambhir Watts, Founding President of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Australia (BVBA). 3. Mr Darren Gribble, Former Australian High Commissioner in India 4. Dr G K Harinath, a medical practitioner and Director of the Australian Cricket Board (Cricket Australia) since 2004 5. Ms Kerry Ryan, a senior Partner at Deacons Lawyers and the main driver of their India-related practice. Proposals for Projects in both Australia and India are welcome. As AIF is covering new ground, AIF welcomes ideas and proposals for new projects in both Australia and India that are consistent with the bilateral nature of AIF. Projects should involve cash or in-kind contributions from Indian and Australian companies and people of Australian or Indian origin, with benefits helping alleviate disadvantage in both countries. Ideally, projects will involve people-to-people interaction across countries and cultures. Programs that provide education, training and other personal development would be particularly welcome because of their long-term positive impact.
