As a Melbournian, it's a privilege and an honour to be shortlisted for Miss India-Australia. I found it a challenge to initially try and determine myself by my ethnicity, or nationality. Specifically because being an avid practitioner and lover of Yoga, I see all of us as being part of one conscious existence. I then realised that Yoga is a mystical art that stems from my roots of being an Indian. What better way than to exhibit my passion for Yoga and being Indian through this competition; which in turn I hope will inspire and encourage every other Indian-Australian woman to follow their heart. I was able to attend a Raj Suri audition, and it was the most informative and enjoyable interaction. I look forward to continuing on this journey; and am excited to give back more than I receive through this Miss India-Australia journey.Love always,
My name is Noor and I am from Melbourne. I entered Raj Suri Miss India Australia 2017 because it gives me the path to enter into the world of glamour and entertainment. Through this opportunity I want to shed light to the significance of Indian culture , traditions , customs and beauty. I would like to encourage young adults like myself to believe that you are in charge of your success and nothing can dim the light that shines within. I strive to embrace
goodwill, kindness and confidence. I enjoy creating and designing. I'm passionate about expressing myself through my writing, painting and acting. I love travelling and being outdoors. I'm passionate about people as I widen my social horizons and have heartfelt or enriching conversations. It is a great privilege and honor to become one of the candidates for Raj Suri Miss India Australia 2017. The undertaking has been an exciting and fascinating experience and I look forward to see where this remarkable and incredible journey takes me.
I’m from the most livable city in the world, the gorgeous city of Melbourne!
I entered Raj Suri Miss India Australia 2017 because it’s a great platform for me to showcase the rich and exotic Indian culture to the Australian community and get in touch with my creative side.
I’m a pretty big foodie at heart which comes as no surprise having grown up with Indian food all my life! I also love to travel and learn about new cultures and languages. The audition process has been an exciting experience and I cannot wait to embark on the next phase of this journey!
When your name means ‘wish’, then at some point you have to become Aladdin and fulfil your wishes. Miss India Australia happens to be it. This pageant is a dream and I’m ecstatic to be a finalist. Winning the title will give me the opportunity to portray the diversity of the modern Indian woman who is versatile, ambitious, bold and charming, yet grounded by her Indian ethics and culture, ready to take on the world, just like me. For me, the word impossible only means I am possible.
I love my life on the Gold Coast, which boosts my active lifestyle, swimming, dancing, exercising, modelling and studying for a degree in pharmacy. The day is just not long enough!
Raj Suri’s workshop has been an enriching experience giving me an insight into the realm of modelling and acting and I’m excited for what life has in store for me. I have learnt not to let fear stop me from reaching out to my dreams. In saying that, sometimes I become too fearless when I start playing rap music in the family car…
Lots of Love,
My name is Mallika Raj and I am from Canberra. I entered the Miss India Australia 2017 contest because I believe that this platform will be able to help me in my passion for social causes like animal welfare, feminism, education, health and fitness. It will also be my pathway to enter the cinema industry and advance my passion for dancing.
I believe if you want to grow, one must always get out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves. I believe that the audition for this contest helped me to dig deeper within myself and help me realise my true purpose and reason.
I'm from that awesome place which has a beach right next to the city- Brisbane! I'm quite multifaceted and enjoy expressing different sides to myself. I've entered Miss India Australia in hopes to break some "pageant" stereotypes and inspire other women to also embrace every aspect of themselves too- because before we can change the world we must first acknowledge the worlds within us. Throughout Raj Suri's workshop and audition process I learnt a lot about bollywood- being an actress/dancer myself it's something I'm keen to pursue. Other things I love: Food, nature, animals, fitness, reading... Did I mention food!?
