A dozen of the most beautiful Indian-Australian women in the nation converged on Perth last night for the finals of the Miss India Australia contest. It was the first time that the nationwide contest was held in Perth and among the 12 finalists who competed for the coveted crown, four were from Perth.

Vimala Raman, a 22-year-old database analyst from Sydney, has been crowned this year’s Miss India Australia. She will represent Australia at the Miss India Worldwide pageant to be held in the USA later this year.
